It all started with Hygge - styling our Homes in true Scandinavian style. Then it was Lagom - keeping everything in moderation. Now, living like a Scandi has become more popular than ever (and each week there seems to be a new trend!). Why? Because so many of us are drawn to the easy-going, slow-paced lifestyle that's opposite everything we find in our daily crazy-busy schedules. It's no wonder that Swedes are so much happier and healthier!

You don't have to move to the cold Nordic North though to be a Scandinavian Dreamer. You can embrace the lifestyle right here with a few simple tweaks to your daily habits. Living like a Scandi simply means taking a less is more approach to life, living an active, outdoor lifestyle, and focusing on engaging with people rather than things.

You might be a Scandinavian Dreamer if...
...you love to go for coffee and cake with a friend just to catch up
Our Nordic neighbors, much like us, have a small obsession with coffee. But instead of drinking it in front of their computer screens, they know how to REALLY enjoy coffee...with a friend...and with cake! Living more like a Scandinavian means balancing your life out - that means less working and more communing with family and friends.
...you love being active and outdoors
Thanks to long, dark winters, Scandinavians have a deep appreciation for nature. They take advantage of being outside when and as much as they can. A typical day might plant them at a desk for several hours. But they offset this with morning or afternoon walks outside and yoga or long stretching in the evening to help them practice mindfulness. Proper self-care keeps them both healthy and happy.
...you take a "waste not, want not" approach to life
Scandinavians are hardly materialistic. They value time with close friends and family rather than the latest new toy or gadget. But it's not their minimalist style or the lack of physical stuff in their homes that keeps them happy. Rather, it's their appreciation of the small things - time to just sit and be quiet, laughter with friends over a meal, a relaxing walk outdoors. Their approach to life isn't to buy less stuff, but rather to appreciate what they do have and place value on what truly matters.
...you love subtle colors and classic patterns
Swedish Interiors are typically characterized by a lot of white and neutral tones. They love to use natural materials to bring the outdoors in. It's all about making a cozy atmosphere. Their fashion style is similar in that they embrace a lot of classic patterns and warm, knit materials. When they do add pops of color, they are often subtle and refined.
...you prefer a balance of comfort and style
Scandinavian fashion, furniture and Interiors are all a blend of simplicity, style, comfort and function. They aren't their to impress. They are their to make you feel comfortable, welcome, and happy. If you want to simplify your life, start by simplifying your home and wardrobe. When it comes to the Scandinavian lifestyle, remember less is more!
