Modern Farmhouse is really the best of the best. It combines trends like rustic, industrial, and modern for a sophisticated, cozy, and alluring environment. Its inviting and yet elegant. Its neutral yet it can be infused with color. It's no wonder it appeals to so many people! Let's take a look at some of the ways you can get that Modern Farmhouse feel in your home.

How to Get the Modern Farmhouse Style in your Home:
Mix Old with New
Many perceive modern or minimalistic design to be rather cold and uninviting. But this Interior Design style is quite the opposite. Interiors are fairly neutral, open spaces with lots of natural light. Furniture is a mix of antique, vintage, and modern pieces. Create a sense of balance in your space by using both modern furniture with clean lines and simple style and found or refurbished pieces like barn doors and pendant lights.

Create Open Space
Open space is key to the modern farmhouse style. Tiny farmhouses were usually one room with a fireplace to heat the entire space. If you can, create a floor or space plan that leaves lots of open area. If your space is more closed off, use lots of natural and artificial space along with white or beige paint to create a sense of openness and airiness.
Use Neutral Colors
The modern element of modern farmhouse design style is using an all-white or neutral color palette. Traditional farmhouse style would use bright primary colors like red or blue. With this Interior Design Style, you want to use light, pastel and "unshowy" colors. This will help even a boxy, closed-off space feel open and inviting.

Focus on Texture and Pattern
Texture and pattern are the two pieces of this style that allow you to inject drama and personality into your space. For texture, you'll want to use raw materials like wood, brick, metal, and glass to add character to your space. Soften with plush textiles and woven blankets. Introduce pattern sparingly on walls or large pieces of furniture. Instead, use classic patterns such as stripes or buffalo checks on area rugs or throw pillows.
With this design style, many people fear working with whites and beige - thinking they should all match and be the same shade. In fact, it is quite the opposite! When you layer shades of a color in a space, it adds depth and character. Just make sure you stick with either all-warm shades (yellow/brown undertones) or all-cool shades (blue/green undertones).
