Color Crush: Dusty Mauve
November is typically associated with the oranges, reds, and yellows of Autumn. But if your tired of the traditional colors, you can use them with an atypical color to really spice things up!
This month I've paired a mustard yellow, bronze, and burnt cinnamon with a dusty pink to create a relaxing, yet modern sitting area! The yellow, bronze, and cinnamon still evoke the traditional red, yellow, and orange you find in the Autumn colors of falling leaves. Yet, instead of going for a bright hue, I've chosen softer pastel and neutral tones.
To really punch things up, I've paired these colors with a light pink called "Dusty Mauve". Its the perfect tone to evoke a bit of Feminism without being over the top!
Here are the paint colors I picked from Benjamin Moore:

Color Match: Mustard Yellow
Mustard yellow may seem like an unexpected color to pair with dusty pink. But its got that rich tone that really offsets the softer pastel. Consider adding touches of mustard yellow in your space in lush fabrics like velvet. This will really create a modern, luxurious environment.
In my design, I also brought in touches of copper and furniture made of wood. These pieces help add texture and shine while bringing in the accent colors of burnt cinnamon and bronze that I wanted!

I love the idea of untraditional but instead of mustard yellow, I’d throw in emerald green. The mauve softens it and keeps it untraditional and the green adds depth but could be traditional. :)
