6 Interior Designs for a Relaxing Home

Let's be honest - life can be crazy sometimes...ok, maybe all the time. There's always an ad, banner, or company trying to get our attention. There's always someone that needs something from us. There's always suppressed emotions and hurt that we're trying to run away from. In this crazy life, its important that our home and office environments are relaxing ones. It's necessary that our home provides a space we can disconnect from the business of the world around us and reconnect with our family and friends. Today, I'd love to share with you some tips and designs for creating a relaxing home.

How to Create a Relaxing, Calming Interior Design for your Home or Office

Tip #1 Use Cool Colors like Blue and Green

Colors like blue, green, and purple have a calming effect. They remind us of nature, help us focus, and make rooms feel more open. To get a calming space in your home, avoid arousing colors like red or yellow and stick with simple, natural patterns. This reduces stimuli in a space allows the brain to rest.

Tip #2 Add in Art that Alleviates Stress

Art may seem like a visual distraction but it can actually improve mood, comfort, and satisfaction. Choose paintings that are landscapes or nature-themed to double as a natural view.

Tip #3 Plants can be Decorative and Beneficial to your Guests

Including a natural, living element in your space is actually proven to promote peace and tranquility. Adding a green plant to your home or office will enhance your self-esteem and increase your productivity (as well as add some inexpensive decoration!)
